Trends in Air Traffic Management

GANS provides services at many airports and is responsible for more than 530,000 annual air traffic movements within the UAE Flight Information Region. GANS is a proud member of the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO), which creates value for its members by being the global and regional voice of Air Traffic Management (ATM), and by facilitating and supporting improvements in global and regional ATM performance. Our experience involves implementing the latest innovative Airspace design in compliance with ICAO annexes, standards, and recommended practices. GANS recently implemented a new airspace design which was based on extensive design, and development work which included extensive stakeholder consultation, airspace design, fast and real-time simulations, training, transition, and the implementation of the new airspace. ANSPs are dealing with the recovery of the industry from the pandemic, whilst this recovery is underway it is important that a mindset change occurs which challenges the so call industry norms, enabling quicker adoption of technological developments which will drive efficiency in a sustainable manner whilst enabling the industry to be more resilient, scalable and cost effective in the services provided to customers.
